Success Story Session By Ameena Saiyed:
Consistent with its efforts to provide a platform to the women of Pakistan and help them empower themselves, KFC Pakistan organized the 4th Success Story Session, a regular part of the KFC Women Forum, to highlight the endeavors of a successful woman. The speaker on this occasion was Ms. Ameena Saiyed Managing Director, Oxford University Press Pakistan.
Oxford University Press, Pakistan, the largest press in the world and a department of the University of Oxford. In 2005 Ms. Saiyed was honored by the British Queen by the award of the most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services for the promotion of Anglo-Pakistan relations, democracy, women’s rights, education, and intellectual property rights.
Enhancing Five Skills in working women:
The KFC Women’s Forum while aiming at improving the quality of Pakistani working women’s life, keep offering unique opportunities to the corporate women. This informal networking platform organized a training workshop for its members. The workshop was designed to managed, enhance, and sharpen the personal and business skills of working women.
The topic of the workshop was “Five Skills of powerful working women.” The activities emphasized on changing and thinking out of the box. Abbas Hussain, Director Teacher’s Development Centre Training Solutions conducted the workshop, renowned personality in the field of education. His motivational training workshops have enabled people to improve their corporate performance in their respective fields.
In view of the incredible rising in the number of women entering into various professions, the KFC Women Forum is designed to address the issues faced but these women. The Forum provides positive direction to solve the challenges faced in the corporate environment while also enhancing career and personal growth for all its members through these workshop and programs. it aims to educate, inspire and indicate enthusiasm in working women by providing them opportunity to exchange ideas and thoughts on a variety of topics ranging from personal development to professional growth.

Finalists in the 4th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, an international competition recognized the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the companies they run.
Cupola Pakistan Limited was the only company from Pakistan that had been selected in list of finalists for Women Helping Women category for KFC Women Forum. Cupola, the franchisors of KFC restaurants in Pakistan, has made dramatic progress in quick service restaurant business in Pakistan in just ten short years. However, the company is not solely driven by growth alone. Cupola has been involved for many
years in working closely with schools and supporting teachers with various activities and conferences.
"We believe that giving back to community should not be an option for any successful company but a moral obligation", said Rafiq Rangoonwala, the CEO of the company. Under his leadership, vision and support, KFC has completed many initiatiatives to bring working women from various sectors of the society under one roof.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards, hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars” (New York Post, April 27, 2005). These Awards for Women in Business are governed by a Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors that features many leading women entrepreneurs and luminaries in business.
Stevie Awards are conferred in four programs: The American Business Awards, The International Business Awards, The Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and the Selling Power Sales Excellence Awards. Honoring companies of all types and sizes and the people behind them, the Stevies recognize outstanding performances in the workplace worldwide.

KFC Women Forum arranged an evening “Women Wellness & Transformationto raise the awareness of Women Health, Wellness and how to transform one to better active and efficient women. The program consists of three sessions.
First was Lead like a woman by Rubina Jamal, Chief Executive Officer, Insolito Associates. Rubina has worked as a management consultant for the last 15 years in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the U.A.E. and Philippines. She talked about “the importance to lead, communicate and influence more effectively. She taught simple, safe, and practical training of cultural changes, how to prepared oneself for appraisals that will have immediate impact in the improvement of personality & workplace.
Second was how I did it? By Urooj Asif , Renowned artist & TV host. Urooj‘s session was a journey of a woman who went through a difficult time in life and came out winner through her inner strength. She believes that Women especially need to be strong & persistent to win the game of life. Urooj revealed that “a positive attitude and a shoulder to cry on are needed in the tough time. She believes that the” tough time never last but the tough people do”
Third was Wellness & transformation by Dr. Zarqa S. Taimur, O ccupational Health Consultant trained in the UK, US and Pakistan. She explained that “Each of us comprise of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and it seems the body, mind and spirit are connected. The health of any one of these elements seems to affect the health”. Our stress accumulated in the subconscious mind leads to many disorders and diseases.
The event was hosted by Kausar Asif, Senior Manger Marketing Services, KFC Pakistan who shared that these programs are the pat of KFC Corporate Social Responsibility program. The Forum comprise of more than 1000 corporate women from Karachi & Lahore
